We are looking for qualified candidates to apply for a newly created Assistant Director position for the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program housed in the Vice President for Student Affairs Office at the University of Florida. The Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program (MFOS) began at UF in 2006. The program provides scholarship and support for first generation and low-income undergraduate students. MFOS serves nearly 1250 scholars who are currently enrolled each year. The scholarship program provides students with a full grant and scholarship financial aid package with the goal of graduating students without the help of student loans. The support program guides students in the transition to college providing financial literacy education, study skills, a peer mentor, career and life planning, as well as leadership development. The MFOS program admits 300 entering first-year students annually and also maintains contact with nearly 1500 alumni.
