January 12, 2018

The Northeast Greek Leadership Association (NGLA) and the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations, Inc. (NALFO) are pleased to announce the formation of a partnership that will enable both organizations to further support and engage NALFO-member undergraduate chapters and members.

Emily Perlow, NGLA Executive Director, states, “The partnership with NALFO is a positive step in helping better reach and serve students in culturally based fraternal organizations. By sharing resources and expertise, our organizations both become better equipped to achieve our mission and foster leadership development among members and advisors. NGLA hopes to pursue partnerships of this nature with other umbrella organizations moving forward.”

The partnership includes expanded programming at the NGLA annual conference for culturally based undergraduate members, programs targeted at advising NALFO groups for campus professionals, and programs targeted at best practices in collaborating with NALFO groups for general attendees. In addition, the agreement includes a track of NALFO member relevant programs at the annual conference and scholarships to attend the conference for collegiate members and scholarships for advisors to attend NGLA’s award winning Advisor Academy.

Maria Diaz, NALFO President, states, “NALFO is excited to enter into this partnership with NGLA. Increasing opportunities for development of our undergraduate members has been a long standing agenda item for the organization. We hope that by encouraging our members to attend the conference and ensuring the presence of workshops specifically targeting culturally based organizations, we can continue to elicit the leadership potential of our members.”
